Whether it is a DfE initiative to cut teachers’ workload or recruitment drive to encourage applicants into teaching, the context in which schools and training providers are operating in 2019 includes one of deep concern at the difficulties in recruiting and retaining teachers in the system. This year’s conference will address these concerns throughout the day.

Keynote Speaker Professor Rachel Lofthouse is from Leeds Beckett University where she has established the Research and Practice Centre ‘CollectivED: The Mentoring and Coaching Hub’. Her ongoing research is orientated towards the transformation of professional learning through partnerships of scholarship and practice development. She continues to research how educational workplaces can both offer, and constrain, professional learning.
